Buying a scooter online
With the end of summer one expects sales to slow down alittle which it has and now the commuter sales kick in for those fighting high gas prices. 2006 has been a great year for scooters. With more and more people looking for ways to cut gas cost they are turning to scooters.
Scootertronics offers shipping of a scooter to all 50 states as well as local pick up from our retail location. With a full time mechanic and parts inventory it has become easier for our customers to get parts and service not only locally but able to order parts and get tech help by phone and email.
With our new shop we have broke into other scooters such as the Yamaha Zuma which uses the same engine as the Strada RX8 so upgrades have come easy for us using MRP High Performance parts. We have added high performance parts for all two stroke scooter not just the chinese clones.
Parts
Parts have been a big issue for Scootertronics in 2006 for customers only seeking parts. Since we mainly stock parts for the models we carry it has been an uphill battle to fill the demand for parts on models we do not carry. Basically we have all engine parts but when it comes to panels we are only able to supply panels for scooter models we sell. We have recently added Chrome 150cc parts for the 157QMJ emgine. This will give scooter owners to add some bling to the 150s.
Buying a scooter online
When buying a scooter online its best to buy from a dealer that not only sells online but locally also with a repair shop. Most of the online store do not have a shop or tech to give any help at all. Scootertronics has both. By repairing what we sell we have learned what goes wrong and what could go wrong. We are able to make sure our upgrades really do work and boy do they. we slapped a pipe on a RX8 and what a difference, more power plus top end.
Some of the other things to consider is how fast do you need to go and how much ridding you will do. There are models of 49cc that will do the job and for go the motorcycle license a 150 requires. Scootertronics carrys four models that fit in the 45mph speed range for 49cc. If you need 50mph with traffic than a 150 is called for and is a must for a motorcycle license. All use the same engine so its down to looks and support. Also price always matters but the cheapest will always be missing something and its easy to tell. Most online sites that are the best bet will be the ones with a retail location and a dealers license. MCO should not be a problem or cost anything. A toll free number says they are reputable. A professional website is a must but does not say much if no phone number or nobody answers. So beware of the dealer who works from home and takes longer than 7 business days to deliver.
