Well just as everyone tries to get all thier shopping done we are experincing sales about 30 percent above last year as our last shipping days approach us. Xtreme scooters still can get in before the 18 will have a good chance for Dec 22 delivery plus we can do three day, two day and overnight on Xtreme. As for our full size scooters we can do a three day delivery with Pilot Air and Forward Air after that its done. Many are taking three day on our full size scooters like the Pink Retros, these are well liked by the ladies just as the Pearl White is with blue as second color.
Scootertronics got a white Tank Classic 150 into our shop for ready to ride delivery to North Carolina. After prepping we did find a short that would have drove the customer crazy and us. The rear brake was wired up wrong and a blew fuse everytime brake was applied. After some quick trouble shooting we found the wires reversed then and switched them and away we went. The Tank Classic 150 is a looker that will not go un noticed by all. What I am going to do is post this scooters history from when customer ordered and when we delivered ready to ride mostly so customer could get warranty from Tank which 2-3 years. The whole point with this warranty is the scooter has to be assembled and prepeped by a dealer then proof has to be presented to Tank for warranty parts.
Tank will go this way with any sale starting in 2007. You will not just buy and assembly yourself anymore. All Tank scooters will have to be assembled and running by a dealer for Tank. No dealers can drop ship anymore. We have been practicing this for awhile now where we assemble each scooter and customer recieves a prepped scooter; fill with gas start ride.
Last minute sales and shipping is happening. Sometimes I have to sweet talk my shipper but we have gotten everything out on time so far. Today I got a couple of Terminators out, one for CA and one for FL. Of course a Pink Retro which are almost out but do have some of the Expresso Retro in Pink and Purple Pastel - thats just what I call the color. Since we use Pilot Air for all our scooters we pretty much have been able to do the impossible its just who you know and the right answers get the job done. With some customers we are having to do terminal deliverys that save them 2-3 days.
The new JMStar 150s and one Classic 50 we are getting in at this time have all the features and are some of our best performers we have found. The 150s are holding up alot better than the other brands we offer. If a customer calls which is what all first time buyers and people who are first scooter riders should do to get the best for what they want to do. The cheapest is not always best but some of them are. The Z-Bike is a great addition that is easy on ths wallet. With great looks and the 157QMJ engine thi svery light 150 screams. With the right high performance parts we can do wheelies in the parking lot from a stand still. JMStar also makes our Streaker 150 and the Roketa line.
With 2006 winding down and the christmas rush just about over its time to explore new ideals for 2007 and what we have accompilshed in 2006. With so much to do running Scootertronics from shipping scooters and providing parts and service to everyone that ask there will be alot of changes for 2007 not only at Scootertronics but in the concept of selling and shipping scooters online.
Just to introduce myself to all, I am the owner and run the day to day business for Scootertronics since opening an online store in Nov 2003 and opening a retail store and service center in 2006 my name is Michael Milstead.
My whole plan and ideals have always revolved around getting the best product to my customers. More than once I have cracked the decepetion of online scooters sales to my customers and will continue to do so every week in this blog. Locally my customers are well taken care of and always get service with their purchase. There will be more than one surprise to online scooter dealers who have based thier operation on the least amount of overhead selling the scooters at the cheapest price. The cheapest price is never the best buy and that applies to everything sold anywhere. Most scooters sold on the internet come with no service after the sale and no parts to be found anywhere.
Scootertronics does it best to service the customer who have purchased elsewhere to get them the parts they need and this does work out well for the engine parts since there are only two to three engines used for every Chinese scooter sold on the internet. This is one thing I will pronounce in 2007 is that all scooters sold on the internet are Made In China period. All other scooters made outside of China that sell scooters do not allow thier scooters to be shipped without first being prepped and having a Pre Delivery Inspection. This is the direction Scootertronics will presue in 2007 and have already started this Dec 2006.
When customers buy in our local area they always get a scooter prepped and ready to ride delivered to thier residence. Scootertronics offers for any scooter bought from us or anyone else for that matter to be prepped and delivered ready to ride anywhere from our shop in Maryland. This means we uncrate, assembe, prep, ride your scooter plus making all adjustments then recrating in a new crate for shipping to a residence for customer to unpack fill with gas and start up. This is the only way to be sure of no problems which seem to be the general theme with buying a scooter online. Most online dealers do not have a shop or have ever seen the scooters they are selling simply drop shipping from a distributor. This has worked well for Scootertronics after we bought and tested each model we sell which is how we do it. Scootertronics knows which scooters and manufacturer have the best record and sell the most problem free scooters. Scootertronics offers from all manufacturers so everyone has a choice in which scooter they buy. This will stop in 2007, we will only sell what we know to be a good buy.
There is still time to recieve a scooter for christmas just order before Dec 17.
One such company Tank who has a huge online presence will stop drop shipping scooters that have not been prepped and had a PDI done. All dealers will be required to have a retail showroom plus a shop to service the scooters they sell. This will put alot of online scooter dealers out of business and end the cheap prices. I feel this is good thing for all. Customers who buy a Tank scooter will be ensured support after the sale.
