Spring Scooter

With gas prices going up and more and more people looking to save on gas they have come for scooters. From the 49cc two and four stroke models to the larger 250/300cc maxi scooters customers are choosing to save on gas by ridding scooters to work to run errands and a quick and easy way to get around. The Vog 260 along with our Blazer 50 and 150 plus our Retro scooters are most popular. We are seeing a trend again this year for upgrades and mods done before delivery. Scootertronics has also extended our personal delivery service to as far as New York and WV along with MD, VA, DC, PA, NJ, CT, NC and of course Washington DC.

2008 sees much better and more upgrades for our 139QMB engines in our 49cc four stroke scooters with three cylinder kits 72cc, 82cc and a new 85cc cylinder kit and large head with combined with a MRP clutch and clutch bell speeds of 50mph and hill climbing is done with ease. Just upgrading the trans on these models does well. Larger jets and a 20mm carb also avalible plus A Dr Pulley clutch for the complete mod.

Scootertronics will hit the race circuit this year with races in PA and Ohio. We will taking along a Vespa 125, Yamaha Zuma, Strada 150 and Blazer 50 and 150 bith with a ton of mods which we have built several of these engines for our customers.

Along with the consumer being hit with gas prices the price of shipping scooters has been going up the whole time also which will start having an impact on prices along with the value of the dollar following in China will also cause scooter prices to go up.price for new models plus all of our 250 and up models will go up starting in May. All the dealers will feel the same effect but with most businesses they will cut service to handle the impact of price increase instead of passing it along to the customer. Scootertronics will stay on its course and allow higher prices on scooters which only causes Scootertronics to add value instead of taking it away. Scootertronics increased it personal delivery area, added fluids to prep work, lengthen the warranty period on all scooters. Instead of cutting cost Scootertronics will add value to each sale not take it away. If the price goes we will still prep for free on the Vog 260 which will also dual rear shocks added in May for new models.

East Coast Delivery Red Streak

Red Streak Motors

With a visit to Red Streak Motors in Boston MA we dropped two scooters one on the way the other on the way back. Seemed likely we would do it last week as a pre run for a new service we are trying out with personal deliveries. With this trip we pretty much have the east coast and will look towards as far out as Indinaapolis after spending two years drving there we found it would be an easy part to add to our service. With shipping scooters weekly across the states we figure we can do alot on our own and add a better delivery service with a running scooter when yo get it no crate at all while still doing a recrate on alot that are 500 or more miles away.

GY6 Engine Upgrades

GY6 Honda Clone engine used in most Chinese and some Taiwanese scooters in the 139QMB 50cc engine and the 157QMJ engine for the 150. Slight difference from each manufacturer has been found as Vento QJ four stroke is difficult to put an 82cc cylinder kit but the 72cc seemed to work and this was found out by QJ makes pep boys engines and scooters also and was found while upgrading pep boys brand. All other 139QMB engines have been found to take up to 85cc kits. With a cylinder/head kit 20mm carb with large intake, Uni Filter, GY6 V850 exhaust, DR Pulley 161301 clutch, MRP variator with Dr Pulley slider weights at 8gram plus Polini kelvar belt makes one fast scooter. This version of the GY6 50 engine will climb hills with ease and get a cool 50 on a straight without wipe open throttle. This engine on a 12” wheel medium size frame gets the job done. Along with a chrome muffler chrome grips can be added with high performance throttle body. With the wider tires plus front and rear disc brakes this scooter rocks.
The GY6 157QMJ has a couple of different versions that are at least better or worse with the 1P57QMJ engine used by Tank and Roketa have problems with 59mm cylinder kit fitting bolt pattern and case. It could be possible the 58.5 would fit but have not tried that one. The QJ Vento, Strada and Keeway scooters use the best case and engine parts on their 150cc, 155cc 167cc engine accept every upgrade from carbs and cylinder kits to clutches and roller weights, shocks,  everything all can be added., The Strada RX200 all years responds nicely with exhaust kelvar belt and dr pulley weights as an easy upgrade with results and by adding a jet and air filter really brings iyt around, the 2008 model is 167cc so upgrades are due mostly with DR Pulley clutches and variators plus 9gram slider weights. Upgrading a 150 starting with the trans add Dr Pulley clutch Variator Slider Weights with Kelvar belt Malossi or Polini, leave compression spring stock using a MRP Chrome Clutch bell with chrome vented trans cover the trans is complete. Top end off with a 59mm head and cylinder kit, 32mm carb with large intake plus high performance air filter from MRP. See the thing is you can do to a scooter or a go cart for slamming results.
