Scooters Save Gas

Gas prices pushed past the $3 mark in California and New York last week and are expected to climb to $4 across the country over the summer. More people are garaging their cars and turning to scooters as a viable money and energy-saving alternative. Dave Balut of Tampa Bay (Florida) 10 News reports a 30% increase in scooter sales over last year in the St. Petersburg area. At Scootertronics we've seen a similar increase.

Small scooters with cruising speeds of around 45 mph are the perfect choice for commuters. Balut talked to scooter commuter Bob Goeble who says he spends just $2 a week on gas since purchasing his scooter.

“I used to drive a large SUV and we’ve put that in the garage and use it only for vacations, and I probably save about 600 dollars a year. ”
